How To Install Halo Headlights: A Simple Guide

If you’ve got some halo headlights ready to install, that’s great! However, it can be a little tricky to install them, particularly if you’ve never done it before.

That’s why we’re here! If you’re wondering how to install halo headlights, you’re in the right place — just keep reading our easy guide and you’re sure to be able to get started in no time. This is how to install headlights.

Get Ready

Before starting, make sure you’re prepared. Get your protective gloves and goggles, grab a mat and place it down on the floor, and test the lights before you begin your DIY headlight installation. You might want to grab an extra pair of hands too.

It’s also important for your safety that you don’t touch the bulbs or wires until everything’s cooled down — make sure you avoid getting oils on the bulbs too.

Get Your Tools Together

You won’t need a whole load of tools, but it’s important that you grab the ones you do need. Get a diagonal cutter, extension, ratchet, combination wrench, socket, and both a flat-head and a Phillips screwdriver.

Start Removing

To begin with, you’ll need to remove the front bumper — this is where another person might come in handy. Then, you should remove the connectors from the headlight assembly, before taking off the harness clip and mounting bolts.

From here, you can remove both the corner upper beam and the bolt from the headlight itself.

Connecting the Wires

Once you’ve completed the above steps, you can start connecting the halo wires to the LED wires.

First, connect the black wire to the ground wire of the driving lights, and then do the same with the white wire and the positive wire. Just be careful not to damage the resistor while you’re on this step!

Finishing the Job

If you’re wondering how to replace car headlights, you’re almost at the end here. From this point, you just need to replace the connectors from the headlight, before installing the mounting bolts and headlight. Finally, you can then install the front bumper again — and you’re good to go.

Why not add something else while you’re there? These truck accessories, for instance, could be worth looking at.

Is a Professional Worth It?

Maybe you’re considering going to a professional instead of doing it at home. If you’re not too confident with DIY, it might be something you decide on — the decision is yours.

It’s likely to be more expensive than doing it on your own, but if you feel it would be worth the money, there’s no harm in going to a professional!
