6 Car Camping Essentials You Can’t Afford to Forget

There has been an increase in people camping over the last few years. Everyone knows to bring a tent, a sleeping bag, and food on a camping trip, but there are so many things that are forgotten during the race to get to their favorite campsite.

1. First Aid Kit

Equipped with everything you might need in the event of a medical emergency, an individual first aid kit backpack has the potential to save lives. The kit has everything you may need for minor injuries to basic survival skills.

From a band-aid to medication to a rescue whistle, a first aid kit will have you covered. You can camp a little easier knowing that you came prepared.

2. Weather-Appropriate Clothing

Make sure you pack for the trip according to the weather. You don’t want to get stuck in a bad situation. Heat exhaustion and hypothermia are real illnesses that you need to avoid.

Regardless of the daytime weather, it’s important to remember to pack warmer clothes for when temps drop late at night. Always pack some extra socks and a jacket in preparation for the worst.

If you know you won’t have access to clean or running water, make sure you buy a water filter (or bring enough water to get you through the trip). Pack a water bottle so that you always have something to put your water in.

5. Gasoline

The last thing you want to be stuck in the woods without any gas or cell reception. Make sure you fill the gas tank before you leave civilization.

If you have to bring an approved container of gas with you on your trip. Keep it in the trunk while the vehicle is moving and store it outside of the vehicle while you’re camping.

6. Camping Tools

If you have a first aid kit, you are on the right track. A few more things that you might find useful are:
