Q: WHERE CAN I FIND PARTS FOR MY OLD HONDA?
A: Here are some suggestions:
Check with your Honda dealer. He may have some old stock that he would be willing to sell. At any rate, he could get you the part number for what you want. Some old parts are still available, so he could order them for you.
Check with a Honda dealer in another nearby town -- especially if it is an old dealership.
Make friends with your Honda partsman. He may have a lead to a bike just like yours.
Join your local vintage motorcycle club. You may find that the majority of those at the club favor Harley, but even those may have a lead to a Honda parts bike.
Scout out your local auto wreckers. A parts bike may be tossed in a pile in some corner just waiting for you.
Attend some auctions where a farmer is selling all his stuff. Sometimes an old bike or bike parts are being auctioned off.
Q: WHAT YEAR IS MY BIKE?
A: Bikes sold in the '60s and '70s were not year specific. If a bike did not sell in 1965, for instance, it carried over to the following year and was sold as a 1966 model.
The only way to tell is to check the date of sale or registration.
Q: WHAT IS MY BIKE WORTH?
A: I don't know. Check with Ebay. The older the bike, the higher the value. In some cases I advise that you ask yourself, "What is this bike worth to me?"
