Acronym for Before top dead center. Spark occurs on the Compression stroke, before the Piston reaches Top dead center.
B thread
B-Train
Colloquial term for a truck tractor pulling two semi trailers where the second trailer sits on a fifth wheel that is permanently attached and extends off the rear of the lead trailer. Most commonly used on flatbeds or tank trailers. The B-train is considered a more stable double trailers configuration.

  2. Acronym for Bureau of Transportation Statistics. An organization which compiles, analyzes, and publishes statistics relevant to the US nation's transportation system. Created to improve the knowledge base for public decision-making and to improve public awareness of the nation's transportation system, BTS collects information on transportation and other areas as needed. The Bureau's largest data collection programs are the Commodity Flow Survey and the American Travel Survey, conducted jointly with the Bureau of the Census to identify where freight and people go by all modes of transportation.
